House of Toast explores the oft-hidden struggles of a pastor and those of his family and friends. Accompanied by his wife, Theresa, and their close friend, Candace, the burned-out Reverend Amberstien hangs up his worn black robe, ties on his fresh white apron, and opens John's House of Toast, a small restaurant in a small town. But the residents of Barkston, Michigan won't let him find refuge in a kitchen.
