Locally Inspired is a community-focused retail shop located in downtown Port Washington, Wisconsin. We’ve collaborated with some of the most talented makers across Wisconsin to bring you a reliable selection of high-quality, handcrafted products. Every purchase you make directly supports the artisans represented in our store – your neighbors.
Whether you’re looking for a unique handmade gift (maybe something for yourself), or a place to connect with others in the community, our Main Street location is a great place to start. We have gone to great lengths to make Locally Inspired more than just a store; we want it to be a place that feels cozy and ripe for conversation. We hope you feel as inspired and uplifted here as we do.
About the Owner
I’m the planner. The achiever. The risk-mitigator. Leaving my corporate gig after 12 years to open a retail shop in the midst of a global pandemic doesn’t quite fit, does it? Although I could check the box for having a successful career, there was something missing: that fire in my belly. It was finally time for me to take control and re-define what success meant for me. Time to follow a dream I’ve had since I was a little girl.
The concept of what kind of shop I wanted to open came easily to me. I love giving gifts, especially handmade gifts. There is a story behind the products and I love sharing that with others. I am excited to be able to support so many small businesses around Wisconsin and create connections to the people behind the products. We all crave connection, even more so now. A connection that cannot be replicated in an online environment. I’m excited to connect with this community in real life and bring plenty of opportunities for you to connect with the people behind the products - from features on our website and social platforms to in-person events at our shop. Your support of the store allows the makers to focus on what they do best – their craft.
A huge thank you to my amazing family for all the support, both physically and emotionally to make this dream a reality. A special shout out to my husband and daughter. I truly could not have done this without my husband’s help and the motivation to show my daughter what it looks like to work hard for something you want. I love that she gets to grow up having hands-on access to free B-School before high school!
